Dominant series violin strings are one of the most widely-used synthetic strings. A highly flexible, multi-strand nylon core makes these comparable in sound and feel to natural gut. The E string is aluminum/steel or plain steel, ball or loop end.
Widely regarded as “the reference standard” Dominant strings, made with a highly flexible, multi-strand synthetic core, provide the tonal warmth and feel of a gut string while being impervious to changes in humidity. The sound is soft, clear with a stable intonation and they are rich in overtones. It's no wonder why they are one of the world’s most popular strings!

I am so pleased with these strings. They have a lovely sound in spite of my playing!
These strings came on my violin, and when it was time to replace them I went with the same strings. They install easily, settle in a few days and hold tune well, sound great and, at least for me, they last and last (I played them for over a year-my bad, and I promise never to do that again). I didn't realize that my violin came with the aluminum wound "E" string, so I bought the set with the plain steel "E", only to find that I much prefer the wound "E". I had to order that one separately. As always, Fiddlershop came through for me.
Fiddlershop has excellent customer service. I ordered these strings along with other items. Unfortunately, a Medium arrived, not Heavy. In a week (I live in Asia), the correct set of strings were sent along with a small surprise freebie. I am amazed at the promptness and friendliness Fiddlershop showed. I gave the strings as a gift to a friend and he said, "Thank you so much! You made me cry. These strings are God's answered prayer to me." He specifically been hoping for a Heavy dominant strings set. Thank you, Fiddlershop.
This was my first time ordering from Fiddlershop and I couldn’t be happier! My new violin string came much sooner than I expected. I have recently gotten back to playing my violin after a 15 year hiatus and I loved the Fiddlershop’s web site and all all the extra things they offer. These guys are now my
Far better and brighter than the Romanian steel strings that came with my Gliga violin. The only problem that I had, other than attaching the ball to the E string, was that the winding one the G string broke and it needed to be replaced. As far as the Fiddlershop goes, it's a great place to do business with and with the local music store that carried some violin/bowed instrument strings and accessories going out of business I'll be doing a lot more business with them.
