BAM is a French acronym for Boîte à Musique, or “the Music Box”.
To maintain optimal protection for your instrument, the interior of our semi-rigid cases are crafted to provide full support to the entirety of the instrument, reducing as much shock as possible using hand injected foam molds inserted into a high resilience reinforced fabric casing. Our hand injected foam inserts offer excellent resilience against drops or bumps that result in compression and shock.
Hightech cases are hard-shell cases made by Bam and are a result of our pioneered technology in which we use a triple layer shell structure; using a top layer of reinforced ABS (or other material depending on the line), a middle layer of hand injected foam, and a second bottom layer underneath, creating a light yet highly protective shell structure.
Thus, the industry standard was born. This technique has been the epitome of our cases for decades and are available in many different finishes and colors!
Non-Hightech cases/Semi-rigid cases normally come with a thicker single layer of ABS or are covered in high quality reinforced fabric while offering great protection at a better price point.
BAM cases are offered in many models as variations, and it's impossible for us to every option in stock at all times. If the specific case you're looking for is out of stock, reach out to support@fiddlershop.com and we can help you place a backorder.
Bam operates its own facility in Thailand, where non-Hightech cases are manufactured under direct supervision. Bam's premium line, the Hightech series, is made in France.
From our experience at Fiddlershop, yes—BAM cases are worth the investment if your budget allows. That said, the right case ultimately comes down to each player’s needs and preferences. For serious players who transport their instrument regularly, choosing a BAM case over cheaper alternatives often saves both money and hassle in the long run.
