How To Change Strings on Violin, Viola or Cello
Whether you break a string, or just need to replace it because it's sounding dull. Here's how you do it quickly and easily.
How to Attach a Shoulder Rest
For violinists and violists, using a shoulder rest adds a great deal of comfort. But getting them on can be a little tricky if you don't have a third arm.
How to Rosin a Bow
If your bow is slipping, or you're just not generating the same amount of sound, you probably need some more rosin. If the bow is brand new, or just rehaired, you'll have to spend quite a bit of time getting the rosin evenly applied (could take a good 5 minutes).
How to Stop a Slipping Peg
Is your peg slipping or not staying in tune? Most times you just have to push the peg into the pegbox while turning. But also re-winding the string so that the string is pinched against the pegbox wall will add some friction and reduce slipping.
