WESTMINSTER Violin E -String
Westminster E Strings are some of our favorite E strings. They are considered a "Universal E" because they seem to blend well with almost every set they are paired with. They have a very warm and pure tone, and are available in three gauges for further control.
- The 25 is the light tension, for a lighter, sweeter tone.
- 26 is the medium, and is our recommendation to start with.
- 27.5 is the heavy tension and will give you the most power, and is also great to try if you are getting a lot of squeak when crossing over to an open string, as this string will many times eliminate that unpleasantry.
- Available with a ball or loop end.
Very good warm E string interesting how an E string can effect the G string tone, the other E string I use is the Goldbrokat its a brighter, but both are very good e strings. Mark
I've tried many E strings and Westminster is one of my top 2 favorites! Using the heavy gauge was an eye opening experience and is a great option for a very powerful upper register. My other favorite is Goldbrokat which feels flexible, bright, edgy and with a punch--but Westminster feels more strong and broad, like the core sound is more imposing. More powerful (especially in heavy).
My experience was great, thank you!
