Holstein Traditional Guadagnini Viola
Size
Holstein Traditional violas are handcrafted in our select VSA award-winning workshop. These instruments are made from high quality European tonewoods; aged spruce for the top and aged maple for the back and ribs of the instruments. Our Holstein Traditional violas are made in various replicas; copies of instruments made by the old masters.
Giovanni Battista Guadagnini (1711 – 1786) was an Italian luthier, and is widely considered the third greatest maker after Antonio Stradivari and Giuseppe Guarneri "del Gesù", being regarded as one of the finest craftsmen in stringed instrument history. His instruments are highly sought-after by elite performing artists.
The Setup
Every Holstein violin is setup and adjusted in our Florida workshop. The hand-carved bridge and soundpost are skillfully crafted to match each individual instrument, and the setup is finished by installing quality fittings and strings. Every instrument is tested and adjusted to perfection, and goes through our famous 10-point inspection.
