The "Midnight" Violin
The Midnight violin is a great starter violin that anyone can afford! We opted to have an all-black version that is less expensive because the varnish time is considerably faster. It certainly helps that it's a darn cool-looking violin as well! We have never been happy with what the market had to offer in this price range. The set up, accessories, and quality of build is far above anything we have tested in this price range!
Every Tower Strings instrument will arrive to you ready to play out of the box. Great for Suzuki and NAfME (National Association for Music Education) students.

If "you get what you pay for," I feel like I cheated a little. Great little starter instrument that perhaps doesn't have QUITE as nice a sound as my $500 viola. Beautiful, too. I wasn't expecting tiny, subtle sparkles (not glitter, exactly, just points of light) in the black, but that makes perfect sense for the "Midnight". It looks like a starry sky. It was even very nearly in tune when it arrived. I've been playing with it for a week, no complaints at all.
It is absolutely beautiful and exactly what was expected. The quality is phenomenal.
Tower Strings Midnight
Fast shipping, very pretty, learning how to play so can't really comment on that yet.
This is a great sounding violin! It is easy to play and has a good timbre for such an inexpensive instrument. The inclusion of a mute, rosin, shoulder rest, and tuner brings down the total cost of ownership. This is an amazing package offering tremendous value. The bow is very disappointing. The stick does not hold its camber when tightened and is very light. If you go with this violin, consider purchasing an inexpensive carbon fiber bow to go with it.
Nice sounding and pretty.
I’ve finally got my new violin. I’m a beginner adult and I’m learning right now. It’s a nice violin, the black outfit is really nice and it’s lighter than my rental one which is a Menzel Chinese made. The bow is lighter too. The only thing is my e peg keeps on slipping. I’m a beginner at tuning so it might be the way on how I’m turning it if you have any advices, I appreciate it!
Hi Pauline! Thanks for your kind words! And yes, tuning can be a pain sometimes! The highest tension is on the E-string peg, therefor you need to push it in harder. I'm including a link to a great video regarding slipping pegs: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pw-uKKyVQNk If this isn't enough, please contact us again.
