My Scott Cao 1/2 size has been with me for a week now. I cannot bear to put it down which helps my practice. The sound is what I would expect from an expensive full size violin with lovely tonal qualities. I am very happy with this little violin. I am 69 yrs old and going back to the violin after a 58 yr hiatus! The staff at the Fiddlershop was very helpful when I was shopping for violin because I had no idea what I needed or would want. Very short arms limited what I was going to be able to purchase...and I am beyond happy with it.
Bought the used 43102 sized
Bought the used 1/2 sized one for my 5 year old son for the future use. He was using an 1/4 ob1 before. It's not fair to compare them but I have to say the ob1 was completely blown away. The stv750's sound is so loud and amazing. We are totally astonished by it's sound. It's also very easy to play. Even easier than the 1/4 OB1 for my son. He can easily play it with his weak fourth finger although it's a little larger for him. And he couldn't put it down the first day we received it. Now the result is he abandoned the 1/4 ob1 which was only played 2 months. The teacher says it's a little larger for him but it's ok to use it as he can play well with it. We didn't try other Scott Cao's model but I can be sure that one won't go wrong to get stv750 for a serious student, even the fractional size.
This is like
This is like a holy grail to me! As I mentioned in my last review, I previously had a Yamaha student violin, which definitely hindered me as an aspiring violinist. I personally do not own this instrument I settled for a less expensive upgrade), but I know someone who does. Whenever I find the chance to get my fingers on its fingerboard, I am reluctant to part ways with this beautiful instrument. This model plays like butter, and its powerful, bright tone is effortless to extract. I would even go so far as to say that this instrument compares to the $8000.00 Gunter Lobe violin. Clearly, I am very impressed with this violin, and would recommend it to dedicated students and discerning musicians alike.
This violin is
This violin is super gorgeous!! Good price and great purchase in this price range. Also, Fiddlerman is very kind and gives always very fast response!! Thanks a lot!
This violin sounds
This violin sounds great. I love the sound of the G,D and A strings but the E string is slightly too bright for my liking. I compared it with other violins in the same price range and it sounds loads better than the other ones. It gets even better over time.
