Lately I have been exploring different rosins with different sets of strings. I saw someplace that this rosin was recommended for use with Violino strings. Preferring a dark tone when I play one of my violins, I figured that I would try out this rosin/string combination. Overall this is a good combination. The rosin itself produces much less dust than basic rosins (D'Addario/generic), or even Hill rosin. I believe that the tone is improved as well. I am uncertain how it would perform on a different string set as I am strictly using it with the Violino set at this point.
The Obligato rosin adds warmth the the sound of strings. Makes a difference. Now my go to rosin. Strings tend to buildup a coating quickly with this rosin requiring more frequent cleaning. Worth the extra cleaning for the wonderfully warm tones.
