I love these strings!
I recently decided to try a few new sets of sgrings and the obligatos sound really nice! I usually get either fiddlerman or helicores but this time i put obligatos on a Baroque style violin i have and pro arte daddrio strings on the 5 string viola. The obligatos are nice! They seem to have less bow noise than the helicores i have had on it for about a year. The pro arte strings i put on the viola are also very nice. They seem to be a tiny bit larger diameter but they are very responsive and warm sounding. They are a great match for a viola. The obligatos win they broke in fast and they have a far different sound than the helicores its sounds great for emotional vocal like passages!

Strings are still settling , but the sound they give my late 19th cent violin are quite an improvement over the dominants I had been using.

obligato strings
Used these strings on my Fiddlerman Tower Entertainer violin, the sound was wonderful, rich and warm immediately. It stays in tune for days, (I live in a humid changeable climate), usually only needs tuning when the weather changes. I love these strings, I think they will always be my go-to strings because of the lovely sound.
