Cello Sizing Guide

If you have a cello to try, sit at the end of the chair with your feet flat on the floor. Lean the cello at a 45 degree angle against your body. Extend the endpin so that the top of the cello body rests in the center of your chest. The C peg should be slightly behind your left ear. Make sure you can reach both ends of the fingerboard easily. If you don't have an instrument already, see this chart for approximate sizing by age and height.

The Ming-Jiang Zhu 905 cello is hand made using the finest Asian Spruce and Maple, and is a great choice for advanced cellists. It is crafted following an Italian design with antique oil varnish. Seasoned tonewoods produce an even, well-projected, striking clear sound. The cello is made by the well-known luthiers at the Ming Jiang Zhu workshop (Noble Heart Workshop) and is further set up and perfected by the luthiers at our Florida workshop.

The maker, Ming Jiang Zhu (Noble Heart Workshop), is a "VSA" (Violin Society of America) gold medal winner! They have won the greatest number and highest level of awards in that highly prestigious international competition. They have become one of the most frequently awarded violin makers in the world. Fiddlershop is proud to sell these fine instruments which would surely cost many times more if they came from any European country. This instrument is as beautiful to look at, as it is easy to play. It has all the wonderful qualities of a fine professional instrument and reminds us of the sound from fine Italian cellos.
