The mf | core cello (formerly known as 'Design Line') is built by hand in mezzo-forte’s workshop in Werther, Germany. Crafted using vacuum-infused carbon fiber, every detail is handled in-house, from body construction to final setup.

Each cello undergoes two complete cycles of hand-sanding, lacquering, and polishing. This produces a deep, smooth surface that brings out the shifting multi-dimensional carbon weave under the light.

Traditional wooden cellos are notoriously sensitive to travel, humidity shifts, and temperature swings. Carbon fiber eliminates these risks. Performers no longer have to worry about open seams, seasonal adjustments, and or settling time after a flight or cold van ride.

The acoustic voice is resonant and well-defined, offering a punchy, clear low end on the C and G strings paired with an A string that opens up effortlessly under heavy bowing. With its immediate, uniform response, you get total dynamic precision, from delicate pianissimo to full concert volume.
