I have been taking a luthier class at Surry Community College, in Dobson, NC, under master violin maker, Joseph Thrift, and I just finished making my first violin, a copy of the “Violon du Diable,” by Guarneri de Gèsu. The chinrest fits very well and feel very supportive. I’m very happy with it!

I have been experimenting with different chin rests, and found that the Dresden so far works best for me. I actually wish there was a chin rest with an even lower profile, but I have not found one. I am sure this chin rest works very well for others, but I found the bonmusica shoulder rest combo with the Dresden chin rest works well for me.
