Great Violin!!!

I received this fine violin yesterday. The moment I held it in my hands I could tell a huge difference from the previous instrument I used to play with. I'm a beginner student and I'm glad I bought this. When I played this very instrument it is light and does not "fight" against me, a big contrast from the cheaper model which was heavier (hence, uncomfortable) and am struggling to get the right intonation-a big factor in learning and mastering the instrument. Although it is not a rule of thumb, sometimes price could dictate quality. And what's more, I'm not just buying an instrument, I am also buying art (this violin is visually pleasing, let alone sounding magnificent) where the luthier poured out his talent, time and attention in making this single instrument and putting his reputation on the line. No cutting corners here. This instrument will be my constant companion from now on and in my future old age and will give me pleasure in playing music, either for myself or intimate few friends around me. Bravo to the young luthier Francesco and Fiddler Shop!!!

Amazing Instrument

I started playing a out a year and 2 months ago. I purchased a Traditional Red Mendelssohn a few months which was an upgrade from my Cheryl Roth. I loved the difference that made. I realized I want to continue playing for the rest of my life so I figured why not buy a violin that is a substantial upgrade and continue my journey on it. I looked at many, but ended up choosing this one. Mainly for the lighter color which I have grown to love as well as the one piece back. The sound on this instrument was obviously apparent. I noticed some dullness on my previous violin on certain notes, and resonance was not as apparent. The difference in note quality and resonance instantly allowed me to transition from using tape on the finger board to nothing at all while maintaining good intonation. Something I struggled with on my previous violin, but since each note on this violin has a unique ring to it, I can clearly hear where I need to be. I knew there would be a difference, but I did not realize how much of a difference. It is light and very nice to play on.
