Fiddlershop is seeking a skilled and experienced professional to join our dynamic workshop team, which includes expert luthiers, instrument technicians, and makers. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing setups and repairs on a variety of bowed string instruments, including violins, violas, cellos, and double basses.
As one of the leading providers of bowed string instruments and accessories in the U.S., Fiddlershop offers a collaborative and creative environment. Our workshop, warehouse, showroom, and offices are all located in Pompano Beach, Florida (about 30-40 minutes north of Miami).
Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform instrument setups following Fiddlershop’s quality setup process
- Diagnose, estimate, and complete repair work on customer instruments
- Conduct thorough quality control inspections in accordance with company standards
- Stay current with industry trends and techniques through training and development opportunities
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure a smooth workflow
Qualifications
- A minimum of 3 years of professional experience as a luthier, specializing in violin family instruments
- Formal training from a recognized violin-making or repair school, or completion of an equivalent apprenticeship
- Ability to play a violin family instrument is preferred but not required
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and make decisions in uncertain situations
- Excellent time management, professionalism, and punctuality
- Fluency in English is preferred
- Authorization to work in the U.S. (Green Card/DHS Authorization)
