My experience with Fiddlershop was excellent. I received the wrong size bow in the mail and the exchange was immediate and cordial. I appreciated the wonderful attention that I was given. Thank you. Don Resset

Fiddlerman Carbon Fiber violin and viola bow review. I’m a Jazz guitar player who started playing violin in college over 40 years ago as a second instrument. Over that time I’ve played and taught violin and viola on and off. While staying home during the Pandemic of 2020 I started playing violin and viola again because I now had extra time on my hands. I was still playing with the carbon fiber student bows I bought 40 years ago so I decided to order the Fiddlerman carbon fiber bows for violin and viola because they have been getting such great reviews. This review will cover both bows because my impressions are the same for both of them. As I played the bow for the first time I simply said Wow! Even though I have limited experience with different bows, this bow just felt good to hold and pull across the strings. It felt great right away and has great balance. The feel of it in my hand is quite good. How do they do it at this price? The violin bow weights 59 grams and the viola bow comes in at 69 grams. They both feel light and balanced. The sound is good, even when compared to a pernambuco bow. It does have its own distinct sound which is solid and brighter than my pernambuco wood bow. As a Jazz player I’m always looking for new sounds. This bow provides one more color for me to choose from. It will take its place in my case next to my favorite wood bow as one more color in my tonal palette. It’s a good bow.
I was completely satisfied with my experience. The initial violin bow was delivered with a broken tip, however the company replaced it within a matter of a few days. The violin wall holder works perfectly. Couldn't ask for better sevice!
I got this Bow just yesterday evening and I have nothing but praise for the smoothness and balance for the kind of folk/classical music that I play! It does seem to take a little more pressure as of right now to get more volume, but I think this is just because I need more practice. I am starting lessons on line next week and I am looking forward to using this bow for that!? I am a beginner/intermediate player and mainly just playing for fun but do play in church sometimes. I eventually want to get, hopefully good enough to teach ?! Thanks to the fiddlershop and the reviews from other violinists!
