Musing C3

I really enjoyed the C3 bow, it is very light, 53.5 grams. The tone is nice and rich. As I am a fairly new player, I found it easy to play, it tracked very well. I found the tone to to be slightly less bright or brilliant compared to a Codabow Luma. It is easy to control. I found it to be much better in sound and playability over my Jean Paul Pernambuco and a entry level carbon fiber that I had. Fiddlershop experience, once again, awesome!!!

Great bows.

I tried the C4 and C5 but eventually splurged and got something in the M series. I would have been totally happy with any of these bows if I hadn't requested costlier bows in my batch of bows to try. The C5 in particular drew a really amazing sound out of my violin. It was a really artful and expressive sound. I am recovering from a stroke, and was having trouble with getting my vibrato back. The C5 seemed to enhance what limited movement I had. It also drew a really powerful projecting sound. C4 was totally respectable too. The following were some reviews that I found helpful. 1) From the founder of Arcus bows who put his own name on this line of bows: 2)Solo violinist Giedrė Mundinaitė-Leenhouwers gives her review of the musing line of bows: 3) Same violinist actually prefers the Musing C5 over an Arcus S4. See her comment around 5:40.

Musing C4 bow

Fiddlershop was very quick to sending this quality bow that I couldn’t be happier with! I’ll certainly be shopping back at Fiddlershop!!

Fantastic intermediate student bow

I was playing with an entry-level carbon fiber bow, and struggling with string crossing in fast passages, double-stops, and off-the-string bow strokes. With the C3, everything just happened smoothly. So playability-wise, this bow is fantastic! Additionally, this bow is a great match for my warm sounding violin, without any that typical carbon fiber bow metallic sound. (I tried a few CodaBow models in my local violin shop and didn't like the sound at all.)

Excellent bow!

I tried this bow and also the Fiddlerman Pro bow. The Fiddlerman pro is an excellent quality bow but it is very bright in tone. It made my violin sound almost shrill. The Musing bow has a warmer sound that complements my violin much better. I highly recommend the Musing bows for anyone who is looking for an extremely high quality bow in the $500 - $900 price range. The customer service at Fiddlershop is simply outstanding. After trying both bows I sent the Fiddlerman pro back and received a full refund completely hassle free. You can’t go wrong here.
