I started playing violin this summer. I had purchased a $100 violin just to see if I would stick with it. I learned that I love violin and wanted to keep growing. And even though I was improving my violin sound was not very pretty. I tried violins at a music store and learned that it is not just skill level that produces the beautiful sound, but the instrument itself. The $1000+ violins at the store were rich and deep, but I am not rich and my pockets are not deep. I was drawn to the reviews of Fiddlerman violins and honesty couldn’t believe a violin at half the cost could sound as good as they said, but I was wrong. The concert violin was rich and deep in sound and I’m kicking myself for not getting it sooner. The concert violin has renewed my love of the violin when I was getting discouraged by the cheap starter one I had. Amazing craftsmanship, amazing sound, amazing company to work with.
My overall experience has been very positive. My violin arrived in perfect condition, just slight tuning needed. After my first violin which cost under $100, this is so much better. I am 5' 1" and small, and found a 3/4 violin easier to handle than my full size one. I enjoy playing more now, on an instrument with a good sound, with well fitting pegs that are easy to tune.
In my mid-thirties, I am a life-long musician but have never played a string instrument. I know the difference a decent instrument makes when starting out and did not want to mess around with a crummy violin. At the same time, I did not want to spend top dollar on something I might not enjoy. I was very happy with this purchase. I am a month into learning the violin, and the Fiddlershop instrument has been a joy to learn on from day one.
Violin came fast and was well setup. Recommended.
Great, fast, smooth.
