Hi Donald!
How exciting! It’s unfortunately very hard for us to help, since we can’t take a look at your instrument in person. We would recommend you to try to find a local violin shop in Texas that can do appraisals and also give you a quote for a repair/adjustment. Good luck!!

Could you possibly steer me in right direction to have an old violin appraisal done. There’s a tag inside with a 1700’s era date and Stradivarius written on it. My father was going to get it repaired in 1975 and was told not to untill the Mandolin brothers could look it over. Instead he put it in a case and left it in bank vault. I don’t know where to begin. It was given to dad in 1925,26, or early1927. He was 11 to 13yrs. old singing and playing on street corners to support his widowed mother and 7 younger siblings. Would like to get it repaired if possible but to find out if it is worth anything first. Any help would be greatly appreciated concerning this matter.
Thanks.
