I REALLY LIKE THIS!!!!
Teller violin bridge with ebony inlay
I have experienced very good results with these bridges, at least as good or better than the lower priced "Aubert" (only) bridges. The ebony inlay does affect the tone of the e string somewhat, but I find it to be an improvement in most cases, when the bridge is adequately shaped and thinned (not left too thick on e string side). For lower priced bridges I would recommend them.
Teller VB3 Bridge
It works fine. My first violin bridge setup. Great price and prompt service. Fiddlerman knows great customer service.
Great bridges if you want to carve your own
If you want to learn how to fit a bridge, these things are GREAT. Buy 4 -- the first 3 will be learning experiences, the 4th will be good. Be advised that these are blanks, so they're way too thick & you need to carve/sand them down. Good bridge wants to be 1mm thick at top, 4.25 at the bottom. The ebony insert is 1mm thick, so it provides a really good guide to getting the shaping right. The wood on these is very nice, it cuts just like the much more expensive Auberts (though I don't know how well it holds up over time). It is a bit **** -- flecks are nice but the base tone is fish belly white. You can fix that by staining it with yellow ochre artist's oil paints thinned with linseed soil.
