Ernst Heinrich Roth, Bubenreuth 1977, Copy of Stradivari 1716 Cello

Made in 1977, this cello from the firm of Ernst Heinrich Roth is in excellent condition - with only one previous owner. Featuring better woods and craftsmanship than their other student models, this cello has "copy of Stradivari 1716" on the label, suggesting an overall higher quality. The wood is quite attractive; the spruce top with fine and even grain, and vibrant flamed maple for the back and ribs. After some maintenance and a new setup, this cello is a joy to play. The sound is full, open, and round with good projection.
