Best of the lot for me

My old violin sounds best with low-tension strings, but low-tension E strings often sound thin or bland. I have tried probably 30 different types of E strings over the years and the heavy-gauge silvery-steel Tonica is by far the best for my violin. Its tension is no higher than many medium-gauge strings (actually lower than some) but the thicker gauge provides a richer core to the sound and better projection. For the first time, my E string sounds sweet, yet with a volume that matches the lower strings, and the sound is consistent in all positions. The low price is an added bonus. Very highly recommended!
