Ming Jiang Zhu 907 Violin Review

The Ming-Jiang Zhu 907 model violin is made with beautiful tonewoods and projects a full and powerful tone. Even though the violins from the Noble Heart Workshop may look similar, one of the main differences between models is the quality and orgin of the wood.

The wood for the top is made from carefully selected European spruce with fine grain. The wood for the two-piece maple back comes from the south of China and is selected for its vibrant and bold flame. The ribs and scroll are similar to the back.

Each instrument is beautifully oil varnished and the color is a red-brown on a yellow ground finish. They are attractively antiqued to appear like an old, expensive instrument. This violin is hand made in the Ming Jiang Zhu Workshop, but is set up and tested by our professional luthiers in our Florida workshop to make sure that it sounds the best it can, and plays easily.

Fittings: Boxwood

Bridge: Professional level Despiau or Aubert bridge

Strings: Thomastik Peter Infeld (PI), Thomastik Vision, or Thomastik Dominant. The strings chosen might differ depending on the characteristics of each instrument.

Body Pattern: It comes standard as a Guarneri pattern, but can be ordered as a Strad upon request.

Dimensions of 7/8: Body length approx. 344mm
Overall length approx. 570mm

About the maker
The maker, Ming Jiang Zhu, is a "VSA" (Violin Society of America) gold medal winner! He has won the greatest number and highest level of awards in that highly prestigious international competition. He has become one of the most frequently awarded violinmakers in the world. Fiddlershop is proud to sell these fine instruments which would surely cost many times more if they came from any European country. This instrument is as beautiful to look at, as it is easy to play. It has all the wonderful qualities of a fine professional instrument and reminds us of the sound from fine Italian old violins.

At Fiddlershop we personally examine these violins thoroughly and test/tune/adjust them before shipping. The violin will arrive ready to play out of the box with minimal tuning required.
