Immune to temperature, humidity, and seasonal shifts, the instrument maintains its exact setup and physical dimensions, no matter the venue.

Developed in-house by mezzo-forte, the passive, battery-free Cordasonus system uses a specialized German ceramic crystal. Mounted directly in the bridge, the sensor measures string pressure at the vibration source, delivering an ultra-wide 10 Hz–80 kHz range with high feedback resistance on loud stages.

Players can manually rotate the bridge sensor in 45-degree increments to adjust the output from direct and punchy to broad and open, all without batteries or active preamps. When unplugged, the instrument retains the exact acoustic depth and warmth of the standard mf | core viola.

Available in 15-inch and 16.5-inch.

Specifications

Pegs: Wittner Finetune-Pegs, stable in any climate
Fingerboard & Chinrest: CITES-free composite, hypoallergenic and durable
Tailpiece: Wittner with a Kevlar loop
Pickup: Cordasonus, 1/4" jack, no battery
Ergonomics: Purpose-designed grooves in the lower ribs hold any standard shoulder rest securely
Warranty: 5 years on the body
