After wanting to play the violin again, doing a fair amount of research of available instruments, new and used, and most importantly not wanting to spend a lot of money, I settled on purchasing a violin from Fiddlershop. I ordered the Prelude from their Back-to-School Sale. Their customer service and communication were outstanding. And the instrument, especially for the price point, is fabulous. It sounds great, plays well, nicely set up, and has all the extras. And their return policy is unbelievable. I actually purchased a Rockstar, upgrading the strings and bow. I received the instrument on a Friday. But then on Monday, they posted their Back-to-School Sale. The Prelude, with slightly older wood than the Rockstar, and upgraded strings and bow was less than the total cost of the Rockstar. They took the Rockstar back without question and refunded my money while I purchased the Prelude. I couldn’t be happier. I’m sold on Fiddlershop. Lee
This is a very timely arrival. I needed a practice violin that would have the same feel as my other Fiddlershop concert de luxe and this definitely suits my need. Thank you, guys, you highly proved your service excellence again!
Packaging was excellent. This is my 1st violin. I didn't want to invest a lot, just in case it doesn't work out. I am blown away by the quality of this violin outfit. With the rest outfit being so good and complete, I figured the violin itself would not be anything to write home about, I was wrong. Good looking wood. Tuning pegs work great. The violin has good fit and finish. A great set up. It has much better sound than I was expecting. Yes, I listened to the demo, but Michael can make even a "violin shaped object" sound good. Even in my total violin novice hands it has a decent tone. I've played guitar over 46 years and played mandolin for about 10 years. I've personally had some high quality expensive instruments and used to work in a music store. I've seen and experienced good and bad instruments. This violin is good. If you factor in price, this is an excellent value violin outfit! Fiddlershop's customer service is great, a true pleasure to deal with, and I will again.
