Makes Learning a Joy
I am a beginner, and this violin sounds so beautiful compared to the one I started with; it’s a great motivation to practice more. Thank you, Fiddlershop!
The highest possible praise for Fiddlershop
We made the purchase of a Fiddlerman violin outfit after a great deal of research over a period of a couple of years. We read numerous recommendations online and looked at multiple sellers and reviews. From the research we anticipated a well vetted product that would be set up and ready to use, complete and functional for a beginner. We did not anticipate the high quality of the entire set. Normally instrument kits come with budget components which you will need to upgrade quickly and there are missing accessories that you will need to source. This was our expectation and I cannot tell you how shocked we are to be so wrong. To start with, the case is very nicely made. It is sturdy and hard sided with perfect fitment for the instrument. There are compartments everywhere, allowing storage or everything you would need. This is not a cheap gig bag, this is a very quality case that you will not need to upgrade for a very long time. There is an absolutely complete set of accessories included with this kit. Every item is well packaged and branded. It is thoughtful and thorough. We thought we would need to buy a tuner or something in addition, but literally everything has been thought through and included. Let’s talk about the instrument. This violin was purchased as a starter instrument for a professional musician who has been playing other instruments for over 40 years. We knew that the violin would take years to master and wanted to only make a small investment as this would be a hobby, not a primary instrument. We also know that with any instrument you need to have a baseline of quality so that the instrument is playable, which is why we did our research in advance. As expected, the instrument arrived set up, in tune with the initial maintenance completed so that it is playable out of the box. With minimal effort we were able to tighten up the bow and immediately play. The instrument is pretty and looks nice with no quality control issues you might expect with a low cost online purchase. Nothing, however, could have prepared us for how the instrument sounded. This instrument sounds absolutely beautiful. It resonates and sounds like an angel. The proud owner of this violin works with professional violinists regularly and has heard amazing instruments that are hand-built by master craftsmen that are hundreds of years old. Even by this high measure, this violin impressed. We cannot overstate how pleased we are with this purchase and the overall quality and service we have received from Fiddlershop. We would endorse this product for even the most discerning buyers.
After a long hiatus from playing the violin my grandfather bought me when I was about ten, I dusted it off to practice again. Noticing interest in playing by my granddaughter, we began on a journey to both learn to play; her as a beginner, and me, to hopefully advance and get better. I now gave that violin to my granddaughter and replaced it with the Fiddlerman Apprentice, and I couldn’t be happier. The violin is everything I expected it to be for a violin at this price range. I may not make it to Cleveland’s Severence Hall with it, but I’m certain my granddaughter and I will be playing duets from the “A Tune a Week” (a super bonus from Fiddlerman I didn’t know about at purchase) together soon. From the website, to ordering, shipping and delivery, all aspects of the purchase were flawless. Bravo, Fiddlerman!
Perfect set up.
I received my fiddle and instantly took to a bluegrass jam. I literally unboxed it in the parking lot. I rosined up the bow and jumped right in. All I had to do was fine tune it , didn’t need to use the pegs, just the fine tuners. I had been away from the fiddle for a while , but the folks in the room thought I was a pro. I am thrilled with the fiddle and the expert set up. Well done guys!
Great beginning violin set.
Beautiful looking violin and case. Just wish the case had shoulder straps. Fine tuner is ok.. Bow had a loose hair but overall great deal.
