Holstein Bench Medici Strad Viola

The quality and dimensions of the wood and varnish are copied from the original to achieve the same tonal qualities of the priceless Medici contralto which was part of a set of instruments, five in number, which were made by Stradivari in 1690 for Cosimo di Medici, Grand Duke of Tuscany. The original has been described as "one of the finest of the ten existing examples of the maker, its preservation being as remarkable as the beauty of its appearance."

At Fiddlershop, we are proud to offer this stunning replica which produces a warm and deep tone comparable to a vintage instrument, with the projection and response of a modern viola.
