I bought this kit in 1/4 size for a student, and she gets a really good sound out of it, despite its small size! The only complaints I have are: One of the bows is starting to come apart where the frog meets the stick (especially when tightened). Also, when first opened up, it has that "new thing" smell. Other that that, it's great!
I purchased two of these for my children who are just starting out on violin. For the price, they are hard to beat. Everything works as it should and with a little peg grease, it stays well in tune. The bows leave a lot to be desired, so I replaced them with much better carbon fiber ones. The cases are solid enough and while they don’t have much space for a shoulder rest, they do have enough room for a sponge. I only wish they had enough space to hold music books, but it’s a small gripe. Overall, these are the perfect starter violins for young kids. Nice enough to do the job and inexpensive enough that your heart doesn’t stop when they drop it.
I love the violin and the case. I just noticed however that one of the bows was broken (I only pulled the one out, and am just seeing the second now). I already sent an email to customer service, but any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
We had some bumps in the road with our order - starting with the violin being out of stock - but the company quickly found a solution and we were shipping one of better quality. But then it arrived with a broken strong, Fiddlershop got back to us right away and offered to send a replacement string and a link to videos on how to replace. The violin itself seems fine - it is for my daughter and she is just learning, but she has no complaints!
This was an upgrade in size. Seems to be a good student violin for the price. We like the sound. It was already set up.. Prompt shipping.
