Excellent bow

The Fiddlerman carbon fiber violin bow feels and plays like a much more expensive bow and it is carbon fiber not graphite.

Hello James! We have a 3-month warranty on the hair, as well as a 5-year warranty on the stick. We’d be happy to give you an extension on the hair warranty since you already had 7-8 hairs you had to cut off. If you prefer, we can send a replacement bow out for you. 7-8 bow hairs is more than expected. Unfortunately when we hair the bows and they ship through different climates (and are being played at a different climate) it’s common for some hairs to come loose. Even the most perfect hair-job ends up with a couple of loose hairs. With this said, a violin bow has almost 200 hairs. It’s time to rehair the bow when you’re down to about 2/3 of the hairs or slightly less. It’s common for hair to break while you’re playing and this is why some people rehair their bows as often as 3-12 months. Please let us know if we can do anything to help.

Beginner+

As far as I can tell (lack of experience) this bow handles nicely, reacts to my needs on the violin. I will buy another when there is a need.

I'm just a hack

I needed a bow for my old fiddle as I was playing at a St *****'s Day party (yes, it was awesome). I was mostly playing banjo and mandolin but since everyone would be pretty jolly by the time we got on stage I decided to play a few tunes on the fiddle. Soon after that commitment was made - my old bow went. I'd tried a carbon bow in a music shop years ago but $300 for what is far from my primary instrument was a it much. I went for a search hoping I could do something for under $200. I read a bunch of reviews and decided to take a shot at the Fiddlerman, since everything I was looking at was a gamble. I had no time to go test bows or talk to anyone. The fiddle gods shone on me, as even my wife who wisely tunes me out remarked at the difference in tone. What I noticed however was the playability of the bow. It was better balanced, tracked nicely, and was not inclined to balance. This allowed me to pay a little more attention to my left hand, play my breaks, not make a fool out of myself, and rekindle my interest for playing fiddle. get one (or two). For the price you can't go wrong. Service, packing, timeliness, great bow. A steal.
